Join the hundreds of locals who take part in Cancer Council's Relay For Life in Wangaratta: start or join a team in the Wangaratta 2016 Relay or donate today!
Relay For Life is a fun and moving overnight experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council's research, prevention, information and support services. Relay is a chance for the Wangaratta community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer and to raise money to help save more lives.
Participants, in team's, walk round the oval for the 20 hours of the Relay for Life. Each team consists of ten or more people and a member of each team must be walking at all times. There will be live music and activities taking place throughout the weekend including masseurs and podiatrists, food venues, prizes for the best decorated tent, hat and baton, etc. The first lap is for cancer survivors and carers. At dusk there will be a HOPE ceremony when paper bags with messages written on them, for cancer survivors and those no longer with us, will be placed with lighted candles in them, around the oval.
